Movie Screening and Panel Discussion: "The Secret World of Recovery"

The Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office (DACCO) presents this free event in honor of National Recovery Month.

Doors open at 11:30am for a silent auction, art show, and a drug-prevention expo.

From 1:15pm to 2:30pm, the documentary “The Secret World of Recovery” will be shown. This film follows the journey of veteran novelist and journalist Leslie Glass and her daughter, columnist and screenwriter Lindsey Glass, as they travel the country reporting on the changes in drug treatment and attitudes toward it. They also tell their family's story of how they struggled to understand each other as Lindsey was misdiagnosed, treated with mood-altering medications, and tried dozens of superficial “fixes” to deal with what she and Leslie ultimately came to understand and accept as the disease of addiction.
