FAA Honors Tampa International Airport For Airfield Safety

TAMPA, FL — The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Tampa International Airport with its first Safety Mark of Distinction Award. This award recognizes exemplary achievements and initiatives that an airport has undertaken to promote operational safety.

The FAA has repeatedly complimented the TPA team for consistently maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.

“Our airfield operations team does an excellent job every day inspecting, identifying and coordinating projects on the Airfield,” said John Tiliacos, executive vice president of operations and customer service. “They coordinate with the airfield and electrical maintenance teams, working tirelessly to adhere to a strict maintain schedule and the planning and development team does incredible work developing, designing and implementing our airfield projects and programs. This honor belongs to them for all they do, day in and day out, to hold TPA to the highest level of safety.”
