Suspicious Package On Hillsborough Contained Anti-Theft Devices
Tampa Police are on-scene at Carver Exceptional Center, 2934 E. Hillsborough Ave., for a report of a suspicious package.

TAMPA, FL -- After being retrieved by the Tampa Police Bomb Squad's robot, police say a suspicious package found outside Carver Exceptional Center, contained nothing dangerous.
Tampa Police were called to the school Thursday, April 12, at 7:10 a.m. after school personnel reported seeing a suspicious package on the grounds of the exceptional center at 2934 E. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa.
Police quickly evacuated the center and closed traffic on Hillsborough Avenue between North 22nd Street and North 34th Street.

But after a two-hour investigation, the bomb squad discovered the white plastic bag contained small anti-theft devices. At this time, it is unclear why the plastic bag was in the area in front of the school, near some bushes, not far from the sidewalk along Hillsborough Avenue.
