Man In Critical Condition From Gunshot, Police Seeking Shooter

Tampa Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at 4605 N. Thatcher Ave., Tampa.

TAMPA, FL – Tampa Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at 4605 N. Thatcher Ave.

Police received a 911 call from woman who said she was driving in a car with her boyfriend, Jason Botes, 31, who had been shot. Police met the woman in the 4100 block of West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and provided first aid until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived and transported Botes to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition.

The Tampa Police Tactical Response Team was called to Thatcher Avenue where the shooting occurred but the shooter was no longer in the home.

Detectives are now trying locate the shooter who is described as a black man in his mid to late 20s, last seen wearing black clothing.
