Patch: What do you like most about your job?

McCullars: It’s not your everyday, normal job. We get paid to do some pretty cool things.

Patch: How did you become interested in firefighting?

McCullars: Right after high school, I had an opportunity to do a ride-along with my second uncle in DeKalb County (Ga.). It was 24 hours, and I got to go on all the calls. I was hooked after that.

Patch: Do you have a hero or mentor?

McCullars: My dad. Through the years he’s given me advice that maybe I didn’t want to hear, but as I get older, it makes sense now.

Patch: What’s your favorite color?

McCullars: Green. No reason.

Patch: What’s the last movie you saw?

McCullars: “Hall Pass” at the drive-in movie theater. It was fun.
