Meet The Owners: Four Paws Sake

Pet sitting, dog walking, pet taxi and more

Next time you leave town, instead of taking Fido or Fluffy to the kennel why not let them stay in the comforts of home?

Established in 1998, Four Paws Sake has been taking care of Tampa’s pets for years. Owner Caren Tully Gaesser joined Four Paws Sake in 2003 as a part-time pet sitter. In 2006, the former owner decided to sell the business and Gaesser jumped at the chance to leave corporate America to pursue her childhood dream of working with and caring for animals.

More than just pet sitting: Four Paws Sake offers a variety of services, including: pet sitting, dog walking, pet taxi, lockout service and house checks— no pets required. The Gaessers have even driven clients to the airport. As Gaesser said, “If you don’t see the service you require just ask and we’ll do our best to accommodate any request.”

It’s a family thing: Co-Owner Mark Gaesser retired from professional grooming to work alongside his wife. He’s since discovered his greater passion of caring for animals. The husband and wife team love working together. As Caren Tully Gaesser said, “I can always count on him. Always. I trust and rely on him completely.”

It’s not just for the dogs: Along with providing care to cats, dogs, bunnies, fish, reptiles, chickens and ferrets, Caren Gaesser has also provided insulin injections and subcutaneous fluids for animals. You name it and she’s probably cared for it.

It’s a love thing: The Gaesser’s treat every animal as if it is their own and bond to their furry friends. Clients tell them that their pets seem more relaxed, happy and well adjusted. “When I got back from vacation I think Gizmo and Bacini were disappointed it wasn’t Mark walking through the door,” said Karen Williams, a client.

We have clients not customers: Every day they feel a sense of fulfillment and appreciation from both their animal and human clients. They provide their human clients with the peace of mind that “all is well” and their beloved pets are well taken care of. They have formed close bonds to their human clients.

They’re Always Available: Open 365 days a year, Four Paws Sake is available holidays, weekends and just about any time you need them. Holidays are especially busy so book early.

Living and Working in the Heights: The Gaessers like living and working in the Heights area because of the strong community atmosphere, the neighborly residents and the character and of the houses as opposed to living in a cookie cutter subdivision.
