NY, NJ, CT, IL Require 14-Day Quarantine For Florida Travelers

Floridians traveling to these four days will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

TAMPA, FL — Travelers flying into Chicago, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut from Florida are now required to quarantine for a 14-day period.

Earlier this month, Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Allison Arwady issued an Emergency Travel Order directing travelers entering or returning to Chicago from states experiencing a surge in new coronavirus cases to quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of last contact within the identified state. This includes both Chicago residents returning from travel and travelers arriving in Chicago from a designated state, including Florida.

In a joint travel advisory, the governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut also issued a 14-day quarantine.

Tampa International Airport currently has roughly seven flights per day to O'Hare International, LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, Atlantic City and Bradley International in Connecticut.

Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, United and Spirit operate flights from Tampa to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Spirit, Southwest, Frontier and United, Delta and American fly from Tampa to Chicago.

The travel advisory also includes nine states with significant community spread of the coronavirus, among them, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and Washington.
