Poll: How's Mayor Buckhorn Doing?

Almost year after following popular two-term Tampa mayor Pam Iorio into office, Bob Buckhorn is looking relatively strong, according to this St. Petersburg Times/Bay News 9 poll.

Sixty-six percent of respondents rated him as doing an average or better job, while 39 percent say his performance is "good or excellent. Twenty-three percent were undecided, and 8 percent voted "not so good" or poor.

As for specific issues, Buckhorn also scored well in downtown development, crime, and the Tampa Bay Rays. Buckhorn's handling of the homeless and panhandling issue was a mixed bag, according to the poll.

But how do we in Central Tampa feel about Mayor Buckhorn, who made creating a master plan for developing growth in much of our urban core part of his campaign platform?
