NORTH TAMPA, FL -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 23-year-old man for attempting to rob the Chase Bank at 2802 E. Fletcher Ave., Tampa.

Deputies say Emmanuel N. Adonteng entered the Chase Bank in the University area around 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 and handed a note to the teller demanding cash. In his note, Adonteng implied that he was armed.

Another bank teller called 911 for help at 1:05 p.m. and deputies arrived less than two minutes after the call came in, surprising the would-be robber in the bank. Adoteng was arrested without incident. No one was hurt and no weapon was recovered.
