Southern Brewing & Winemaking Gets First Round of Approval from Tampa City Council

Seminole Heights moves one step closer to gaining a home brewing retailer after the meeting on Thursday night.

After a lengthy public hearing on Thursday evening regarding a petition by for a special use permit to sell beer, wine and liquor at its future location at 4500 N. Nebraska Ave., the Tampa City Council moved the issue forward to a second public hearing  and vote on June 23.

Council members addressed the concerns of residents about hard liquor sales and noise at the store's future location by stipulating a condition that no distilled spirits may be sold for consumption on or off the premises and that the business may not install amplified music outside or have amplified music emanate from the interior.

Southern Brewing & Winemaking is currently at 1717  E. Busch Blvd. The business is co-owned by Brian and Kelly Fenstermacher, who live in Riverside Heights.
