Tampa Firefighters Quickly Douse Seminole Heights Commercial Fire
It took Tampa Fire Rescue about 15 minutes to douse a structure fire at 3:04 Thursday afternoon, July 12 in Seminole Heights.

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, FL -- It took Tampa Fire Rescue about 15 minutes to douse a structure fire at 3:04 Thursday afternoon, July 12 in Seminole Heights.
Workers were performing roof work at a commercial two-story building at 701 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. using a tar kettle that uses propane as its power source to heat tar to a molten state.
The tar kettle caught fire and ignited some leaves nearby. The fire spread to an adjacent wood shed located on the property.

A worker tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher to prevent the fire from spreading to the propane tank but was unable to put out the fire so he called 911.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the immediate area and inside the shed.

There were no injuries reported.
