Pawnshop Owner Shoots, Kills Would-Be Robber: Police

The owner of City Pawnshop​ shot a man Thursday afternoon after he entered his business and pointed two guns at him

TAMPA, FL -- The owner of City Pawnshop shot a would-be robber Thursday afternoon after the man entered his business and pointed two guns at him, police said. The preliminary investigation indicates that a man parked a car in front of the pawn shop and left the engine running as he went inside. The suspect was identified as Eric Jerome Norton, 20, according to police.

Tampa Police detectives responded to the fatal shooting at City Pawnshop, 3901 E Hillsborough Ave., about 1:50 p.m. The owner of the pawn shop, Arthur Divi, 41, told police that the man jumped the counter, aiming weapons at him, police said.

Divi has cooperated with police. He has not been charged.
