Tampa Police Make Arrest In Home Invasion

The 77-year-old victim of the home invasion had just returned from the store when he was approached by two men outside his garage.

TAMPA, FL—One of two men believed to have taken part in a home invasion in Tampa Nov. 26 is in police custody.

Tampa police arrested Leo W. Butler, 19, on Friday, Dec. 8, based on forensic evidence recovered at the crime scene.

According to Tampa police, the 77-year-old victim of the home invasion had just returned from the store when he was approached by two men outside his garage in the 400 block of South Willow Avenue. The victim told police that two other men were waiting in a car nearby. Police say the men robbed the victim at gunpoint and then forced him into his house, which they ransacked. They made off with a number of stolen items, including a firearm.

Tampa police are continuing their investigation and search for the other three robbers.
