
A 24-year-old Tampa man is dead following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 4 near U.S. 301 late Tuesday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Joshua Contrerasâ Chevrolet pickup was disabled and parked on the outside shoulder of the westbound lanes, east of U.S. 301, when the crash happened. Contreras was standing near the left rear of his truck when a vehicle traveling westbound on I-4 around 11:06 p.m. struck him.
Contreras suffered fatal injuries and died at the crash scene, trooper say.

Troopers believe the other vehicle involved is a red Nissan sedan. The driver of that car failed to stop, a media release stated.
