Man Shot In Tampa Road Rage Incident Identified

The Tampa Police Department is looking for help identifying the people inside the SUV shown in the video.

TAMPA, FL — As the Tampa Police Department continues to ask for help identifying the driver of an SUV involved in a probable road rage shooting on the Howard Frankland Bridge Monday night, the agency has released the victim's name.

Police say Andrew Norris of Cypress Street in Tampa was the motorcyclist struck by a bullet during the apparent road rage dispute. According to the agency, several motorcyclists and a motorist in a SUV became involved in an altercation on or near the bridge around 9:54 p.m.

The motorcycle riders told police they were cut off in traffic by the driver of the SUV. The group of motorcycles and the SUV continued to the Tampa side of the bridge where they stopped near the Kennedy Boulevard/Airport exit, an email from the police department said.

Norris was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the email noted.

Police have been unable to locate the SUV, but have released video shot by a camera attached to one of the motorcycles involved. The video shows what police think might be a red or maroon Ford Edge. After the shooting, the SUV cut over to get onto the Kennedy Boulevard exit and struck another vehicle in the process, the email said.

Anyone who can identify the driver or with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.

No further information is being released at this time.
