1 Killed, 6 Injured In Shooting In Lounge Parking Lot In Tampa

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead and six others injured.
Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Tampa police responded to a report of shots fired near the LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge at 908 N Franklin St., said Tampa police.
Officers arrived to find one man dead from a gunshot wound. Four other men and two women were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

According to police, there was a verbal argument between two groups of people inside the lounge, and the management escorted both groups out of the lounge where the fight escalated and one person retrieved a gun from a vehicle and fired it multiple times.
Detectives are still interviewing witnesses to develop leads in the case. No arrests have been made yet.

"This is senseless violence. There's no reason why anyone should lose their life over a fight at a bar," said Tampa police Chief Mary O'Connor. "We are working diligently to follow up on leads and find those responsible."
