TAMPA, FL — One person was rescued from a Saturday afternoon Tampa house fire.

Firefighters responded to a the fire at a single-story home in the 8400 block of N. rome Avenue around 2:30 p.m., Tampa Fire Rescue officials wrote in a social media post.

The first crews to arrive found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the building.

Firefighters put out the fire, which was under control within 30 minutes, fire officials said.

Paramedics evaluated the home’s sole occupant after they were pulled from the building.

There were no injuries to responding firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is helping the homeowner following the fire.
