2 Arrested In String Of 10 Convenience Store Robberies
Tampa Police have arrested two men in a string of 10 armed robberies in the city of Tampa and unincorporated Hillsborough County.
TAMPA, FL — Tampa Police have arrested two men in a string of 10 armed robberies in the city of Tampa and unincorporated Hillsborough County that began Oct. 13.
On Oct. 19 at 4:17 p.m., Tampa Police received a call about an armed robbery at Super 7 Food at 4808 Broadway Ave. E. with the robbers matching the description of those who committed the earlier crimes.
Officers located the vehicle in the area of 50th Street North and 10th Avenue East and began to follow it with assistance from the police helicopter.

The vehicle fled, struck a curb and crashed at 2908 Lake Ave. at 5:07 p.m.
Two people fled on foot but were caught with the help of Tampa K9s.

During an interview with detectives, one man gave a full confession, admitting to taking part in armed robberies at the Marathon Gas Station at 2611 N. 40th St. Oct. 13, the Marathon Gas Station at 6925 Broadway Ave. Oct. 14, the 7-Eleven at 7401 E. Broadway Ave. Oct. 18, Super 7 Food Oct. 19 and Liberty Gas Station, 3401 E. Lake Ave. Oct. 19.
Jeffrey L. Davis Jr., 22, has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Tyee M. Spike, 18, was charged with fleeing to elude, a hit-and-run traffic crash, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
