3 Indicted In Armed Robbery Of 4 Tampa Convenience Stores

TAMPA, FL — Three Hillsborough County residents have been indicted on charges of armed robbery.

United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced the return of an indictments against Dyonnie Alvarez, 22, of Tampa; her brother, Christopher Alvarez, 18, Gibsonton; and Enrique Marquez, 26, of Tampa with four counts of conspiracy to commit the robberies and four counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence while committing the robberies.

Dyonnie Alvarez and Marquez have also each been charged with an additional robbery.

If convicted, each faces up to 20 years for each robbery count, and up to 20 years for the conspiracy count.

The firearm charges each carry a mandatory minimum term of seven years in prison and up to life. The indictment also notifies the defendants that the United States intends to forfeit any firearm and ammunition connected to the robberies, as well as the money they stole.

According to the indictment, on May 5, the Alvarez siblings and Marquez robbed two convenience stores in the Tampa area at gunpoint. The next morning, the trio robbed two more Tampa area convenience stores in the same manner.

In addition, on May 1, Dyonnie Alvarez and Marquez attempted to rob a person of narcotics, according to the indictment.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
