There Is Still Time To Check Out Tampa Comic Con On Sunday

TAMPA, FL -- Just look at the crowd for proof that a love of comic books and comic book characters has no age limits.

A mix of kids, young adults and senior citizens numbering in the thousands poured into the Tampa Convention Center Friday, Aug. 3, for the opening of the highly anticipated Tampa Bay Comic Con comic book convention.

Those who haven't had their fill of Super Heroes can still visit Comic Con on Sunday.

The event features purveyors of comic books, toys, games, apparel and anything else having to do with comic book, anime and manga characters.

The convention will also feature a number of celebrity guests including actor Val Kilmer, Matthew Lewis of the Harry Potter film series, Brent Spiner who plays Data on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," David Harbour who plays Police Chief Jim Hopper in the Netflix series, "Stranger Things" and Rory McCann of the HBO series, "Games of Thrones."

* Tickets will be available for purchase at the door every day of the convention during box office hours.

* Tampa Bay Comic Con Sunday hours are:
Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

* Download the Tampa Bay Comic Con app for free to your Apple or Android device. The app features the event/panel schedule, celebrity schedules, exhibitor/artist lists, maps, and more.

* If you pre-ordered tickets via Eventbrite, you’ll need to bring your Eventbrite printout(s) (or have it/them available on a smartphone) to the "Will Call" area to scan. Enter through the Channelside entrance of the convention center and proceed upstairs.

* Celebrity autographs and photo-ops are cash only. They are sold onsite during exhibit hall hours. Autograph and photo-op tickets must be used on the same day they are purchased.

* Be sure to check out the Tampa Bay Comic Con retail booth to purchase your Tampa Bay Comic Con exclusive t-shirts to show your local, nerdy pride!

* There will be food trucks lined up outside the convention center in the roundabout on Saturday and Sunday.
