The new field house is a gymnasium facility that will be home to a state-of-the-art fitness center, Hall of Fame Pavilion, Champions Hall, coaching suites, video scoreboard, men’s and women’s locker rooms, bleachers and concessions.

The new facility is currently under construction, and scheduled to be complete by this spring. It will be used by all Tampa Catholic athletes and fellow students in the school.

Kevin Knox II, the former Crusader standout who was selected ninth overall by the New York Knicks in the NBA draft, wanted to give back to his high school alma mater so, when Knox signed with Puma, he made sure Tampa Catholic received $10,000 worth of gear from the shoe company for the next four years.

“We can’t imagine a finer example of an alumnus who exhibits faith, excellence and family,” said Robert Lees, principal of Tampa Catholic High School. “Kevin is a champion on and off the court, and we are so grateful for this gift that will enhance the experience for every Tampa Catholic student, current and future.”

Knox’s inspiration for the donation was guided by the values taught by his parents, Michelle and Kevin Sr. of Valrico, along with the lessons he learned from high school coach Don Dziagwa.

He went on to play college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats at the University of Kentucky before being selected ninth overall by the New York Knicks in the NBA draft in 2018.

Shortly after, he signed a contract to promote Puma and made sure Tampa Catholic received $10,000 worth of gear from the shoe company for the next four years.

“I was inspired to give back to Tampa Catholic, as they helped me become the person and player I am today,” said Knox. “Being a TC Crusader will always be a part of who I am on and off the court.”

Knox, currently 22 years old, attended Tampa Catholic from 2013-17. He has three younger siblings: Kobe, a Tampa Catholic alumni; Karter, a current Tampa Catholic student, and Ashley.

Knox II comes from a family of athletes. His father, Kevin Sr., was a wide receiver for Florida State, a member of their 1993 national championship team, and an NFL player for one season with the Arizona Cardinals.
