BRANDON, FL — A Texas-based national fast-food chain known for its massive, made-to-order burgers and 24/7 service is expanding its presence in the Tampa Bay area with a new location.

Whataburger will celebrate the grand opening of its new Brandon restaurant, located at 1426 W. Brandon Blvd., on April 30, the chain said in a news release.

The burger joint will open at 11 a.m. on that day, following a special opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m.

The Brandon restaurant follows the company's return to the Tampa area in February with a location in Largo and another opening earlier this month in Lutz.

The latest location in Brandon is part of Whataburger’s expanding footprint across Central Florida, the news release said. The company plans to open three more restaurants in the region by the end of the year, with new eateries planned in Orlando and Fort Myers.

The restaurant in Brandon will serve guests 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with dine-in and drive-thru service available starting on opening day.

Digital ordering through the Whataburger app and website will be available in the coming weeks.

There are several opening day promotions for customers in Brandon. The first 80 guests in line and the first 20 cars in the drive thru will receive a Whatamerch swag bag with Whataburger items, while supplies last.

Whataburger, headquartered in San Antonio, has more than 1,100 restaurants across 17 states, including more than 50 locations in Florida.
