BRANDON, FL — The Texas-based chain Whataburger, known for its massive burgers and being open 24/7, continues its expansion in the Tampa Bay area with the opening of its third restaurant in the area later this month.
The company’s latest burger joint in the region will open in Brandon on Thursday, 11 a.m., at 1426 W. Brandon Blvd., according to a news release.
A special opening ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. that day.
Whataburger returned to the Tampa area in February with a Largo location, and then opened another restaurant in Lutz earlier this month.
The Brandon debut is part of a broader expansion across Central Florida, the company said.
The new location will serve customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with dine-in and drive-thru service available starting on opening day.
Digital ordering through the Whataburger app and website will be available in the coming weeks, the news release said.
To mark the Brandon opening, Whataburger will offer giveaways for some of the first customers at the new restaurant. The first 80 guests in line and the first 20 cars in the drive thru will receive a Whatamerch swag bag with Whataburger items, while supplies last.
The company also said it plans to open three more Central Florida locations by the end of 2026. Those restaurants are planned for Orlando and Fort Myers later this year.
The chain now has more than 50 locations across Florida. Nationwide, there are more than 1,100 Whataburger restaurants in 17 states.
