TAMPA, FL — Ebisu Life Store will open its largest-ever store this week in Tampa.
The Japanese lifestyle retailer will celebrate the grand opening of its newest store, at 6234 Commerce Drive in the Tampa Palm shopping center, on Friday at 10 a.m., Ebisu wrote in a social media post.
"Explore Official Bandai Gashapon, anime collectibles, Japanese snacks and drinks, beauty, skincare, stationery, TCG, blind boxes, plushies, home goods, and so much more," according to the post.
From Aug. 14-23, the store will offer gifts with purchase and exclusive deals on selected items while supplies last.
Those who tag the store on Instagram could receive a free 10-count box of Hello Kitty wet wipes, the store said in its post.
Meanwhile, those who spend more than $49.99 will receive a snack gift pack. Shoppers who spend $69.99 or more will receive one collectible toy figure and a snack gift pack or an Ebisu limited-edition canvas bag.
And those who spend $89.99 or more will receive a Toycity Super Blind Box Quantum Dog series, a Hello Kitty & Friends facial tissue box, and a snack gift pack or an Ebisu limited-edition canvas bag.
The new store, located in a former Joann Fabrics, spans nearly 21,600 square feet, far eclipsing the Orlando location, which is nearly 15,000 square feet, Creative Loafing said.
"Come experience the BIGGEST EBISU EVER BUILT," the Tampa store wrote in a social media post.
Founded in Osaka in 2015 by Fukuwa Co., Ltd., the Ebisu chain brings high-quality Asian goods to the U.S., including toys, snacks, beauty and home goods, according to its website. It also operates as a fashion retail brand.
The brand currently has 28 stores across the U.S., including locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Texas, according to Ebisu's website. There are also 16 stores listed as coming soon.
Current Florida stores are located in Jacksonville and Orlando. In addition to the new Tampa store, an Ebisu is also planned in Miami.
