BRANDON, FL — A second person has been arrested in connection with a Brandon shooting that left an innocent bystander wounded, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Taurean Sanders, 19, was arrested Friday after detectives determined he was armed with a gun while robbing a victim during the Aug. 12 incident, deputies said.
Sanders is charged with robbery with a firearm involving less than $750, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, dealing in stolen property and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
"Our detectives continued to investigate this case until everyone responsible was held accountable," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "Let me be clear, if you bring violence into our neighborhoods, you will face the consequences in Hillsborough County."
The shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Landon Preserve Circle. Deputies responding to reports of gunfire found a bystander who had been shot in the arm. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Detectives previously identified 17-year-old Key'rion Sincere Austin as the shooter. The sheriff's office did not provide additional information in Friday's update about Austin's arrest or the charges he faces.
The investigation remains ongoing.
