Hawk Rescued From Screened-In Pool Area At Tampa Home: Watch

TAMPA, FL — A deputy recently rescued a large hawk trapped in the screened-in pool enclosure of a Tampa home after an elderly resident called the 911 dispatch center for help, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post.

"With a little teamwork and a lot of patience, the deputy safely caught the hawk and released it into the nearby woods," HCSO said in the post.

In body-worn camera footage from the rescue, the deputy can be heard talking to the terrified bird, trying to calm it and calling it names like "baby" and "cutie."
