Tunnel to Towers Tampa climb honors 9/11 heroes on 25th anniversary (fox13news.com) — Tampa residents and first responders filled One Tampa Center's stairwells Saturday for the annual Tunnel to Towers climb honoring 9/11 heroes. Marking the 25th anniversary, organizers highlighted a new pledge to pay off 343 mortgages for families of fallen first responders, while local participants shared deeply personal connections to the event and its support for veterans and public safety families.
   

2. Tampa Home Prices Slide as Sellers Face Growing Competition (newsbreak.com) — If you're buying or selling a home in Tampa, prices just slipped 6.6% year-over-year while listings with price cuts climbed, even as inventory remains tighter than the national market. Homes are sitting a median 76 days, giving buyers more negotiating room but forcing sellers to price sharply and adjust expectations in this cooling yet still competitive landscape.
   

3. Tampa Traffic Alert: Broken Water Pipe Shuts Down Stretch Of South MacDill Avenue Through Monday (tampafp.com) — A broken water main has shut down South MacDill Avenue between West Cherokee and West Price in Tampa, with detours in place and repairs expected to wrap up by 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. Drivers in South Tampa should allow extra time, follow posted detours, and watch for possible shifts in the closure if crews need to adjust the work zone or return later.
   

4. Tampa ranked 7th best city in America for 'foodies': study (wfla.com) — Tampa just earned a top-10 national ranking for food lovers, coming in 7th in a new WalletHub study comparing more than 180 U.S. cities. Researchers weighed grocery costs, restaurant affordability and access, plus food festivals, putting Tampa just behind Orlando and not far from top-ranked Miami.
