Child Called 911 To Report Mother’s Death: Hillsborough Sheriff

A woman was found dead in a Tampa apartment after her child called 911, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

TAMPA, FL — A woman's body was found at a Tampa apartment on Wednesday morning after a child called 911 to report that their mother was dead, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office news release said.

The HCSO 911 Dispatch Center received the child's call just after 11:30 a.m.

Deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 12200 block of North 16th Street, where they found the woman, who was pronounced dead after Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived, HCSO said.

The sheriff's office is conducting a death investigation.

No additional information was released about the woman or the circumstances surrounding her death.
