Residents are urged to hang up on suspicious callers, verify balances at utilities.tampa.gov, and contact the Utilities Call Center or Tampa Police Department if they believe they've been targeted.
3. Pedestrian in wheelchair, trying to cross street, killed in traffic crash; Tampa police investigate (wtsp.com) — A man in his early 70s using a wheelchair was fatally struck while crossing N. Nebraska Avenue near E. Lambright Street in Tampa during heavy rain, and police are investigating. Tampa officers say both involved drivers stopped and cooperated, and early findings indicate neither speed nor impairment contributed to the crash.
4. Tampa Bay Lightning: 3-year-old fan attends first game after 16 months in hospital (fox13news.com) — A Tampa-native family is finally taking their three-year-old son John to his first Tampa Bay Lightning game after he spent 16 months at St. Joseph's Hospital and survived multiple medical crises. 5. Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, along with the City of Tampa, are monitoring vulnerable neighborhoods like Town 'n Country and Egypt Lake-Leto and planning long-term drainage upgrades to better protect residents from future flooding.
