Noise Complaint Leads To Foot Chase And 57-Pound Drug Bust In Tampa (tampafp.com) — Deputies responding to a disturbance on River Run Drive in Tampa ended up uncovering more than 57 pounds of marijuana, MDMA pills, and drug paraphernalia inside a home. After the resident allegedly ran and knocked down a deputy, officers chased him down, secured a warrant, and arrested the 36-year-old on over a dozen drug-related charges.
3. WATCH: Waymo takes Tampa passengers into oncoming NFL game traffic (fox4kc.com) — A driverless Waymo carrying young passengers in Tampa briefly drove into redirected, oncoming traffic on North Himes Avenue outside Raymond James Stadium during last Sunday's Buccaneers game, forcing riders to bail out. Witness videos show the empty car blocking a lane as fans react, while Waymo says it's investigating how the vehicle entered the temporary one-way setup.
4. ZooTampa moves closer to $75 million funding agreement with Hillsborough County for expansion and upgrades (tampabay28.com) — ZooTampa is close to securing a $75 million funding deal from Hillsborough County's half-cent sales tax, with a public hearing set for October 21. If approved, the money would modernize older exhibits, add a major South America section, and create new amenities, while ZooTampa matches the investment with its own funds and donations.
5. How did a lost dog find his way to a Tampa police station? (attackofthefanboy.com) — A German shepherd that wandered away from home walked straight into the Tampa Police Department on September 30, where officers cared for him and checked his microchip.
