Bake'n Babes To Bring Over-The-Top Creations To Davis Islands

TAMPA, FL — One of Tampa's favorite places to satisfy a sweet craving just got sweeter.

Bake'n Babes, a crowd favorite at Armature Works, 1910 N. Ola Ave., announced it will open a new location on Davis Islands.

Owner Julie Curry hasn't announced an opening date but confirmed that the eatery will open in The Villages at 231 E. Davis Blvd. this year.

"We are so excited for this new space and can’t wait to share it with you," Curry posted on the Bake'n Babes Facebook page. "We don’t have an official opening date yet but as soon as we do, we’ll post it here."

Bake'n Bakes is known for its over-the-top seasonal, monthly and special event "freak" creations like The July Works, Bake'n Babes' signature vanilla soft serve piled high and topped with a heart-shaped swirl lollipop, cotton candy, Bomb pop, patriotic light-up wand and star sprinkles.

The May Works featured vanilla soft serve, a vanilla cupcake, a mermaid tail squeeze toy, a light-up whale wand, cotton candy, strawberry wafers and sprinkles.

And the April Works topped signature vanilla soft serve topped with a chocolate pudding dirt cup, flower lollipop, Peeps bunny cookie and marshmallow, cotton candy, seasonal sprinkles and a flower light-up wand.

Bake'n Bakes is now featuring the August Works — signature vanilla soft serve topped with a vanilla cupcake with a fish gummy, a water gun, cotton candy, shark light-up wand, fish lollipop and sprinkles served in an inflatable sea creature cup holder.

In addition to these artistic confections, Bake'n Babes specializes in fresh-baked cookies like salted chocolate chip, Nutella-stuffed cookies and Fruity Pebbles cookies, and the Sleazy Brownie is made up of layers of cookie dough, Oreos and brownies.

Those with a sweet craving can also get these baked goods sprinkled on top of a Babe Shake.

Bake'n Babes' hours at Armature Works are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
