Best Cities For Singles: How Florida Cities Rank

When it comes to finding love during the holiday season, Florida singles are better off than most. Five cities in the Sunshine State landed in the top 50 on the 2019 "Best & Worst Cities for Singles" list.

Atlanta topped the list, which was created by personal finance website WalletHub. Second and third were Denver and San Francisco, respectively.

The worst city for singles in the United States? That heartless honor goes to Pearl City, Hawaii, with Pembroke Pines, Florida, not far behind.

Here's how Florida locations ranked among the 182 cities evaluated:

• No. 19 — Tampa
• No. 33 — Miami
• No. 37 — Orlando
• No. 44 — Tallahassee
• No. 45 — Fort Lauderdale
• No. 72 — Jacksonville
• No. 101 — St. Petersburg
• No. 162 — Port St. Lucie
• No. 171 — Cape Coral
• No. 173 — Hialeah
• No. 181 — Pembroke Pines

To come up with its rankings, WalletHub compared 182 of the most populated cities in the United States across 35 relevant metrics of single life friendliness, including the average price of a two-person meal, the share of single population and active Tinder users.

Gilbert, Arizona, was found to have the most online-dating options. Detroit had the highest percentage of singles of any city in the United States.

Going on a date in 2019 is more expensive than you might expect. The average cost of a date is $102.57, according to USA Today.

Each relevant metric was listed with its corresponding weight and the cities were subsequently graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the best possible single experience.
