Big Ray's Fish Camp To Serve Up Seafood Favorites At Sail Plaza

After being under construction for a year, the new Big Ray's Fish Camp at the Sail Plaza in Tampa is ready for its big reveal.

TAMPA, FL — In the mood for a shrimp corn dog? Or how about some fried key lime pie? You won't have to wait much longer. After being under construction for a year, the new Big Ray's Fish Camp at the Sail Plaza in Tampa is ready for its big reveal.

The restaurant in the renovated Sail Plaza at 333 Franklin St. S. will begin serving up conch fritters and grouper Reubens Friday, Aug. 9. An official grand opening will take place Thursday, Aug. 22.

Chef Raymond "Nick" Cruz won the hearts and stomachs of Tampa Bay residents with the first Big Ray's at Ballast Point Pier, 6116 Interbay Blvd. Now he is bringing his well-loved conch fritters and grouper cheeks to the Tampa Riverwalk as part of the re-imagined Sail Plaza.

The renovated plaza next to the Tampa Convention Center features a 360-degree bar, upgraded restrooms, additional seating, shade structures and a full kitchen for Big Ray's busy staff.
