Cat Dies, Family Loses Home In Tampa House Fire: Video
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a single-story house fire in the 10000 block of North 14th Street at 1:48 a.m.

TAMPA, FL — A family is homeless and their pet cat has died following a fire Thursday morning in North Tampa.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a single-story house fire in the 10000 block of North 14th Street at 1:48 a.m.
Engine 24 arrived first and found smoke and flames showing from the south side of the home.

The family was able to escape the home without injury, however, they could not find their cat.
Fire crews were able to find the cat, but could not revive it.

Firefighters made an interior attack on the blaze and the fire was under control within 20 minutes. There were no other injuries. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
The Tampa Fire Rescue fire investigator is still determining the cause.
