Central Florida Says It's Better Than Tampa Bay

In a tongue-and-cheek editorial, an Orlando Sentinel reporter says it is.

Miami was the first to throw down the gauntlet, listing out 10 reasons why “Tampa sucks” in response to a 2012 battle over which region had the best Cuban sandwiches.

Now, it seems, Central Florida has spoken – or more aptly written – its own words of war. In an editorial published Tuesday, Orlando Sentinel reporter Adrienne Cutway lists out 25 reasons why Central Florida is better than Tampa Bay.

With things like the Kennedy Space Center, a commuter train and the University of Central Florida currently holding the title in the War on I-4, it seems the Sentinel is pretty confident in its stance that Central Florida bests Tampa Bay hands down.

“Orlando and Tampa are similar in a lot of ways – both cities value art, both have great science centers and both are a favorite among tourists – but in some ways, we just have them beat,” the Sentinel piece states.
