Check Out the World's Largest Cuban Sandwich in Ybor City
Ybor City will celebrate Tampa's official sandwich tomorrow.

The Taste of the Cuban Sandwich festival will construct the world's largest Cuban at the Ybor Campus of Hillsborough Community College.
Beginning at noon, Tampa restauranteurs will begin building the giant sandwich that will measure 36-feet in length, surpassing the current Cuban Sandwich record of 30-feet held by Miami since December 2011.
Tampa Bay restaurants will be selling sample size Cuban Sandwiches (price varies by vendor, most $1-$2.50 per sample) for hungry attendees to declare their favorite Cuban sandwich. A dozen different varieties will be available.

Tampa City Councilwoman Yvonne (Yolie) Capin will present the resolution naming the historical Cuban Sandwich as the official sandwich of Tampa, and recognize the winners of the May 2012 Cuban Sandwich Festival winners.
Enjoy a live performance of the Cuban Sandwich Song/Jingle, reading of “I Am A Cuban Sandwich” by Tampa’s poet laureate James Tokley, music performances by Ray Villadonga and the Rayzilla’s Dreamboats.

The festival will be held tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Taste of the Cuban Sandwich events will take place in the Ybor Campus' Ybor room, cantina and plaza. The Ybor building is located in historic Ybor City on Avenida Republica de Cuba.
The event is part of the annual Cuban Sandwich Show, and the invitational art exhibit in HCC Ybor Campus Art Gallery will be open to the public during the festival. There is no charge to view the exhibit in the Performing Arts Building at 2204 N. 15th St.
