Chilly Days, Possible Late-Week Storms in Tampa Bay's Forecast

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents ready to break out the sweaters and jackets for more than a day or two might enjoy the week ahead.
The National Weather Service is predicting a mostly clear, but chilly start to the week. Monday kicks things off with sunny conditions and a high in the low 60s in most parts of the region. The overnight low is expected to fall into the low 40s.
Tuesday brings even cooler temperatures with a high in the upper 50s and low in upper 30s in the cards. Overnight lows in some counties may reach the freezing point Monday and Tuesday nights. Freeze watches have been issued for Levy County on Monday and for Hernando, Sumter, Citrus and Levy on Tuesday.

Conditions warm a bit heading into Wednesday when the high is expected to reach the mid-60s. Clear skies that start off the day should stick around into the evening hours when a high in the upper 40s is anticipated.

Thursday
- High temperature – Around 70
- Low temperature – Upper 50s
- Rain chances – Not anticipated as of Monday’s extended forecast
Friday
- High temperature – Low 70s
- Low temperature – Around 50
- Rain chances – Showers and possible thunderstorms are anticipated with a 70 percent chance of rain in the cards in the daytime hours. A 20 percent chance of showers will stick around heading into the overnight hours.
As of Monday, forecasters expected the weekend to be sunny and cool with highs in the low 60s and lows in the 40s.
