
Pull out those shorts and grab the sunscreen. The Tampa Bay area is in for a steamy Christmas week.
According to the National Weather Service, the chilly temperatures the region has enjoyed over the past few days are gone just like the weekend. Monday kicks Christmas week 2015 off with mostly sunny conditions and a high expected to climb into the low 80s. The overnight low should fall to the upper 60s.
Tuesday is anticipated to be a bit warmer with a high in the low-80s, but rain does creep into the forecast. There’s a 40 percent chance of showers in the afternoon hours and into the evening when the low should drop to about 70s.

While rains have ushered in cooler temperatures over the past few weeks, that’s not meant to be this particular week. Forecasters anticipate Wednesday’s high to climb into the low 80s with an overnight low in the low 70s. There’s a 20 percent chance of more showers Wednesday.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Day
As of Monday, weather service forecasters anticipated mostly sunny conditions and a high in the low 80s. Forecasters at The Weather Channel, however, say it could get hotter – much hotter. They’ve pegged Christmas Day for a high in Tampa around 88 with a 10 percent chance of rain. The overnight low is expected to drop to about 70s.
The warm temperatures are anticipated to stick around through the weekend.
