County To Begin Improving 285 Miles Of Roads With Rescue Funds
Hillsborough County will put its $35 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to work by improving 285 miles of roads around the county.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Hillsborough County will put its $35 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to work by improving 285 miles of roads around the county.
During Wednesday's Hillsborough County Commission meeting Wednesday, the commission agreed to devote the bulk of its federal funds to bolster the county's deteriorating roadways including resurfacing eight major roadway corridors and 89 neighborhood roads and repairing 32 roads.
The eight major roadway corridors slated for resurfacing with ARPA funds include:

- North Wilder Road from U.S. 92 to Knights Griffin Road in East Hillsborough
- Riverview Drive from South U.S. 41 to Alafia Drive in Gibsonton
- North Howard Avenue from West Kennedy Boulevard to West Saint Louis Street in Tampa
- North Westshore Boulevard from West Kennedy Boulevard to West Spruce Street/West Boy Scout Boulevard in Tampa
- Oakfield Drive from South Lakewood Drive to South Parsons Avenue in Brandon
- North Habana Avenue from West Hillsborough Avenue to West Waters Avenue in Carrollwood
- Regents Park Drive and Pebble Creek Drive in New Tampa
- Tobacco Road from Hutchinson Road to Van Dyke Road in Keystone

- Cypress Trace Drive in Carrollwood
- Whirley Road in Lutz
- Middle Lake Drive in Carrollwood
- Old U.S. Highway 41A in Palm River
- Innfields Drive in Citrus Park
- Southwick Drive in Carrollwood
- Arbor Hollow Drive in Citrus Park
- Stonegate Drive in Carrollwood
- Pine Bay Drive in Carrollwood

In addition to using the ARP funds, the county will add another $5 million to fund additional road projects.
County staff is in the process of advertising for bids for contractors to perform the work.
