Couple to Wed at Pottery Barn in Hyde Park Village

This Thursday, Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma's Rock Your Registry event will be coupled with a real live wedding.

If you could hold your wedding at any store, where would it be? Post a comment below.

With her own wedding on the horizon, associate Jennifer Mahoney saw an opportunity in the upcoming being held at on Thursday night.

Pottery Barn, along with neighbor , are already participating retailers in the event, but Mahoney's employers have agreed to do something extra special for her — they're staging her wedding there.

"It's definitely one of the most interesting requests we've ever had," Pottery Barn spokesperson Kendra Stewart said. "Her full wedding is going to take place in Maine later this year, but for her friends and family who can't make it to Maine, she is having this wedding."

Mahoney, who declined to be interviewed, posted on Facebook she "will feel right at home" with the wedding being held at the store where she's worked for more than two years.

Thanks to the registry event, Pottery Barn will already be set up for a wedding that night, including food and live acoustic music. Having an actual wedding paired with a registry event is a first for the retailer, though.

"These events are a great way to offer up inspiration for weddings, and for us, the opportunity to parlay into a wedding is exciting," Stewart said. "We do a lot of these registry events throughout the year, but this totally new. We are happy to do this for her, and everyone at the store is really excited about it."'

Shoppers who attend the registry event, which will be going on from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, will receive 10 percent off for themselves and a guest. The event will be held in the fountain area between Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma and will include hors d'oeuvres, desserts, refreshments, in-store raffles and cooking demonstrations.

Several other Hyde Park shops will also be offering specials. See for more details.
