Devito's is a passion project from James Devito owner of Taps Restaurant Bar & Lounge in downtown Tampa.
Founded on Italian heritage and principles nothing is bought; everything is handmade and made from scratch. What separates DeVito's is the love and passion that goes into making every single dish ordered. RIGATONI BOLOGNESE
Thick, full bodied sauce made with veal; pork & beef served over fresh, handmade pasta. When I asked if this was his family's recipe James shared this one was Chef Alessandro Magnani from the Puglia region of Italy recipe.
CIOPPINO
Fresh assorted seafood stewed with herbs and tomato served with house made focaccia was bursting with flavor.
The focaccia was totally worth the carb cheat.
The wine and beer choices are varied and affordable and there is a comfortable bar area to enjoy your choice.
BRESAOLA BURRATA
Fresh Burrata cheese paired with dry cured beef carpaccio drizzled with truffle oil.
POLPETTES
hand-rolled meatballs topped with house-made marinara sauce
Now for that dessert. Not on the menu but a pleasant surprise a high-end version of what I know as an Italian Rainbow Cookie.
A cannoli is one of my all-time favorite desserts. Though I would sooner not have one if it is desecrated with chocolate chips. Here the Cannoli is treated with respect.
If you are not ready to make the commitment to visit, they are also offering curbside pick up and family meals to-go.
