Donald Trump Stumping In Tampa Monday
The Republican hopeful plans a Monday afternoon rally at the Tampa Convention Center.

TAMPA, FL – Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has announced a Tampa rally, one day before Floridians head to the polls for the Presidential Preference Primary.
Trump’s Monday, March 14, rally is set to take place at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St. The doors to the venue open at 11 a.m. with the rally planned to start at 2 p.m. Online registration for the free event is available via the candidate’s website.
The Tampa Police Department said the rally is prompting the closing of Franklin Street in front of the convention center starting around 8 a.m. The closing will impact the area from Channelside Drive south to Old Water Street.

“Motorists who wish to get to Harbor Island can enter and exit the island using the Beneficial Bridge on Beneficial Drive to the east,” the police department wrote in an email to media. “The rally is expected to have a minimal effect on morning rush hour and the afternoon rush hour. No other road closures are expected.”

The Trump campaign called off a similar rally in Chicago Friday, citing security concerns. The move sparked outrage and a clash between Trump protesters and supporters.
Trump continues to lead Florida in the polls with Sen. Marco Rubio in second place. The polls open for the Republican and Democrat primaries at 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, in Florida.
