Emu Reported Missing in Tampa

The baby responds to the name Allons-y.

A Tampa family is asking folks to keep their eyes open for an emu on the loose.

It seems Allons-y, a 4- to 5-month-old emu, went missing from his home along Hartford Street on Sunday. The critter stands about 3 ½ to 4 feet in height.

Anyone who sees him is asked to contact Hillsborough County Animal Services, 813-744-5660.

“Please help me get him home safely,” a post on the Lost and Found Pet Project of Hillsborough County’s Facebook page states. Fans of the page had shared Allons-y’s photo 60 times by Monday morning and it seems he might have been sighted on U.S. 41 near Madison.

As of about noon, however, the missing emu had not been officially found.
