Epicurean Hotel Giving Away Same-Sex Wedding Packages

Ten couples will have the chance to be married at the Tampa hotel.

As clerks of the court across Florida prepare to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, one Tampa hotel is ready to celebrate.

The Epicurean Hotel is offering 10 same-sex couples the chance to win a wedding celebration, complete with a ceremony and a night’s stay at the hotel.

“We know a lot of people have been waiting a long time and we want to share in your joy,” the contest entry page states.

U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle issued a New Year’s Day ruling that his order declaring Florida’s ban on same-sex marriages was unconstitutional applies to all 67 counties. That clarification effectively paves the way for clerks of the court across the state to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Jan. 6.

The Epicurean’s contest is open to same-sex couples who are at least 21 years of age or older. They must be Florida residents and must have a valid Florida marriage license to claim the prize.
