“Stronger storms may produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning and gusty winds,” the service wrote in its Hazardous Weather Outlook report Friday. Those warnings pertain to storms on Saturday and Sunday, as well.
A rip current statement has also been issued for coastal Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota counties through Saturday afternoon. The chance of dangerous rip currents forming in coastal areas is high, forecasters say.
