Suspicious Package Cleared At MacDill Air Force Base: FBI
All gate and road closures were lifted as of Monday evening, the agency said.
TAMPA — A suspicious package reported at MacDill Air Force Base was cleared as of Monday evening, according to federal authorities.
The package was reported at the visitors center near the Dale Mabry entrance gate, FBI Tampa said in a social media post early Monday afternoon, adding bomb technicians and Tampa police were at the scene.

The Dale Mabry entrance gate was closed and traffic to the base was being diverted to the Bayshore gate, according to the FBI, which added Tampa police also shut down MacDill Avenue south of Interbay as a safety precaution. All gate and road closures were lifted as of Monday evening, the agency said.
"The suspicious package discovered earlier today at MacDill AFB Visitor's Center has been cleared from the scene," according to a follow-up post from FBI Tampa around 6:30 p.m. "This remains an ongoing FBI investigation."
