Fedex Driver Finds Crate Of Puppies On Side Of Road
Two adult dogs and five puppies discovered crammed into a crate and left on the side of the road in the heat are now recovering.
TAMPA, FL — Two adult dogs and five puppies discovered crammed into a crate and left on the side of the road in the heat are now recovering from the ordeal.
A FedEx driver spotted a metal crate on the side of a road in Hillsborough County on Monday, July 16. When he pulled over to get a closer look, he discovered the crate contained seven dogs.
The driver took the dogs to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center but discovered the center is closed on Mondays. However, he was able to find someone willing to take the abandoned canine family to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Humane Society officials say the driver found the dogs just in time. The dogs could have easily died after a few hours exposed to Florida’s summer sun and heat.
The society believes the puppies are a Chihuahua and terrier mix.

It is now looking for foster homes for the puppies for up to three weeks. Anyone interested in helping should call (813) 876-7138.
