FemCity Tampa Bay - Mini-Fems Dangers of a Digital You

On October 5, join Femfessionals Tampa Bay for the launch of its Mini-Fems program, designed to bring positive messages and enriching experiences to girls ages 12-17.

“Dangers of a Digital You” will be a 1.5-hour lunch program led by Dawn Willey, licensed clinical social worker and owner of Carpe Diem Counseling in Tampa. Girls between the ages of 12 and 17, and their adult female companions (mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, aunts and family friends) are invited to attend.

This educational program will reveal the potential dangers of unsafe activity on social media and texting, such as inappropriate sharing, predatory risk and cyber-bullying.

Not only will this program emphasize the potentially life-altering consequences social media and texting could have, but it will give the girls the tools to know how to handle difficult circumstances and make smarter decisions, enhanced by role-playing exercises that simulate real-life situations.

The girls and their female companions will leave feeling empowered and prepared to deal with digital dangers likely to face them in the future. And, we’ll have GOODIES and PRIZES, including drawings for free passes to: Busch Gardens, Congo River Golf and Countryside Lanes.
