Florida Aquarium Staff Receives Sweet Recognition From Girl Scouts

The aquarium was recognized by Girl Scout Troop 50107 as the troop's Hometown Heroes, and staff received boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

TAMPA, FL — Staff of The Florida Aquarium enjoyed sweet recognition from Girl Scout Troop 50107 as the aquarium was recognized as the troop's Hometown Heroes.

The aquarium team received boxes of the iconic cookies as part of a Girl Scouts of the USA cookie donation program.

Providing opportunities for Girl Scouts to be active and engaged, Hometown Heroes allows troops to purchase cookies with funds made available through donations to give thanks to the people making an impact in their community.

“The girls felt very passionate about honoring and thanking the animal care specialists at The Florida Aquarium," said troop co-leaders Erin Berger and Denise Panepinto. "They feel they deserve a great deal of thanks for all the work they do behind the scenes, taking such great care of all the animals at the aquarium and those that were rehabbed.”
