Frontline COVID19 Health Provider Returns Home for Fight for Air Climb
Military Veteran Ivan Nemorin supports Lung Association after serving on the frontlines to fight COVID-19

After more than two years on the ‘frontlines’ battling COVID-19 as a clinical liaison, Ivan Nemorin has returned to Tampa Bay. “I’m so glad to finally be home with my family after being away for two years,” shares Nemorin.
In March 2020 when the pandemic began, Nemorin was sent by Krucial Staffing to hospitals across the country to serve as a clinical liaison to help facilitate staffing needs and set up mobile units and transportation during a surge of COVID-19. “The most eye-opening assignment was in Texas at the height of the pandemic where it was blatantly clear of the inequitable resources available, and treatments provided to different patients. It was heart-breaking. At one point we had worked 71 days straight, but regardless, my team rallied and provided the best care we could for every single one of our patients. I saw it is our mission, like my missions I had when I was in the Navy,” reflects Nemorin.
“Now that I am finally home, I’ve reignited my passion to assist organizations like the Lung Association,” shares Nemorin. “Sometimes once a patient has been sick and they’re trying to recover, you just do not know where to turn. I plan to serve as a health advocate to educate community members about the lung health resources and support services that are available, like the Lung Association, right here in Tampa Bay,” remarks Nemorin.

This weekend, Nemorin will continue his mission as he plans to participate in the Fight For Air Climb Friday, May 6. The Tampa Fight for Air Climb ‘Under the Lights’ challenges residents to climb hundreds of steps at the iconic Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “I have had to wait two years to participate in this event, so I’m anxious to see what it’s all about. There is no way I am going to miss my chance to support the Lung Association and race to climb all of those steps. You need to join me,” exclaims Nemorin.
Money raised at the Fight For Air Climb will fund the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support the organization’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics. The initiative works with public and private entities to increase research collaboration and develop new vaccines, detection tests, and treatment therapies.
